The Sheep

Meet Richard and her sister Philip, the two black-headed, white-bodied sheep who came with the farm in 2022. These two old ladies are the epitome of unbothered elegance. They've spent their years grazing, chilling, and basically living their best lives, which mostly involves lounging around near the swimming pool, waiting for someone to show up with the good sheep muesli. They are utterly unproblematic queens—moisturized, hydrated, and living life with the carefree attitude we all envy. If you hang around long enough, they'll trot up to you with a look that says, "You have something for me, right?" They're sweet, they're coy, and they'll demand to be pet—but only when they feel like it, of course.

Our Texel sheep were supposed to be part of a sustainable meat operation. The operative word here is "supposed." Because Kley, despite his stoic proclamations, is a softie at heart and can't bring himself to do what needs to be done. These sheep know this, and they are not impressed. They keep their distance, grazing peacefully and occasionally breaking into the garlic patch in what we can only assume is a subtle act of passive-aggressive protest. For now, they get to live out their days in peaceful ignorance, knowing full well that Kley's heart is too big to turn them into dinner. But don't get too attached. They'll break your heart first.

We love hearing from fellow farm lovers, curious souls, and people who have great jokes about goats. Whether you have a question, want to buy some homemade jam, or simply need advice on how to get your corn to grow taller than your fence, we're here for it.

Drop us a line, and we'll get back to you as soon as we finish chasing the chickens off the vegetable patch (again).
